Our new ferry Spirit of Rathlin has arrived!
Unfortunately it is not in service just yet due to essential crew training and MCA certification but she is expected to be in operation in a couple of weeks.
The Spirit of Rathlin was built by Arklow Marine Services County Wicklow costing £2.8 million, with a further £1 million spent improving the harbour to facilitate the new ferry. The Spirit of Rathlin will replace Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd’s vehicle and passenger ferry the MV Canna which has been in service between Ballycastle and Rathlin Island since 1997. The new ferry will improve this lifeline service and has been designed to modern standards. We hope to release the launch date for the Spirit of Rathlin very soon!
